Walkers bitten by dogs

Gardaí are reminding dog owners of their responsibilities after two recent reports of people being bitten by dogs.

One incident was reported in the Kilruane area on September 11, with the other two days later in Portroe. It is understood that the injured parties were out walking dogs of their own in both cases.

Tipperary Co Council’s dog warden has been informed and gardaí are investigating both reports.

Gardaí are also investigating two reports of males trespassing on private lands for the purpose of illegal hunting at Ballingarry and Lissenhall on Friday and Saturday, September 18 and 19. Nenagh gardaí and members of the National Parks & Wildlife Service responded to both reports. No arrests were made, though a garda spokesperson said a prosecution is likely in one of the cases.
