Successful ‘Dip for Jigsaw’

Swimming event held in Dromineer

A ‘DIP for Jigsaw’, which is a fundraiser that aims to raise funds for Jigsaw, a youth mental health charity, took place in Dromineer recently.

As explained by Denis Ryan on behalf of Jigsaw Tipperary, this event is a national fundraiser for the charity.

“Dip for Jigsaw’ is a national incentive for Jigsaw. It’s a community event/fundraising event in aid of our service. To bring together our community and to connect others that have a real passion for youth mental health,” expressed Denis. “It’s a nice physical activity that can help your mental health and your physical health.”

Origins of Dip for Jigsaw

This event started a couple of years ago by Denis' colleague Adam Bourke, who was taking part in some swimming initiatives and engaging in exercise regularly. He saw that it had a huge impact on mental health and physical health. It started in Wicklow and expanded to Dublin and Galway last year and now there are eight hubs across Ireland taking part in it.

Support in Tipperary

“It’s been really well supported. We did a lot of work of promoting it online in the local areas of Dromineer and Nenagh and Roscrea,” he said.

“We had a great upsurge in donations after the event. We are very grateful to everyone supporting us so far. With it being year one, we look to expand on it going forward,” he added.
