A JD Devaney led Borris-Ileigh team made no mistake in putting Borrisokane to the sword in this North Tipperary Minor ‘B’ Hurling Championship final on Saturday afternoon.

Senior star, Devaney, put in a magnificent performance with an impressive personal haul of 1-8, all from play, with Eddie Ryan and Kevin Maher also producing excellent displays as Borrisokane simply couldn’t contain their opponents scoring prowess.

Borrisokane, to their credit, never down tools and the likes of Oisin Larkin and Conor Ryan produced some class hurling throughout the match and were the spearheads of their team’s efforts, but they fell well short here against a vastly superior team, who in all honesty, would have been very competitive in the ‘A’ grade.

But in terms of on the field action, both teams contributed to a highly entertaining match in a sun-drenched St. Michael’s Park, and the game was tight early on despite Borris-Ileigh notching the first three points of the game in the opening minutes, but two Oisin Larkin frees settled Borrisokane trailing – 0-3 to 0-2 after eight minutes.
