The Black Mills Sessions

Roscrea Heritage was delighted to host ‘Passing Through’ on Friday last for April’s Black Mills Session. The talented trio of Colin Williams Sinead Browne and Bobby Fahy, entertained the audience throughout the night with a fantastic selection of folk, blues, Americana and rock 'n' roll.

The trio brought their own unique taste into the mix with Colin Williams performing songs such as Tom Wait’s ‘Martha’ along with a poignant rendition of ‘Fare Thee Well My Honey’, also known as ‘Dink’s song’. Multi-instrumentalist Sinéad Browne delighted the audience with an upbeat performance of Amy McDonald’s ‘This is the Life’ along with a stunning version of ‘To Make You Feel My Love’, a song written by Bob Dylan with a popular cover by Adéle. Bobby Fahy, well known for his love of Leonard Cohen songs treated the audience to a beautiful rendition of ‘Sisters of Mercy’ followed by David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’. The trio finished up with a medley of well-known songs that led to a standing ovation from the audience.

The society would like to thank Passing Through for a great performance. The society would also like to thank the OPW for providing the venue, Eileen for all her help. Thanks to PJ Wright for capturing some great photos and last but not least, huge thanks to all who attended on the night, your support is greatly appreciated.
