AN injury-time Sean Hayes goal ensured Tipperary overcame a determined Clare challenge to maintain a tangible interest in the Munster minor championship following an absorbing round 4 encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Despite being down to 14 men and leading by a solitary point with normal time elapsed, the Premier County hit 1-2 without reply deep in injury time to banish a teak-tough Banner side and ensure they must wait on results from next weekend’s final round of matches to see if they progress to the Munster final.

Tipp went into this encounter on the back of a hugely disappointing loss to Waterford in the previous round and once again manager Tommy Dunne enforced personnel changes in attack with Cappawhite’s Ryan Renehan and Nenagh Eire Og’s Cian O’Farrell both drafted into attack in place of Jack Morrissey and Kevin Maher.
