We had no choice but to dig deep - Brendan Maher

Any time you want an honest appraisal of where Tipperary are at, there aren’t many better than Brendan Maher.

For the second week in a row, the 2016 All Ireland winning captain set the tone for another monumental comeback to earn a draw which keeps their championship hopes alive, just!

With ten minutes to go, you would have taken a draw maybe just to get some sort of result but a poor performance overall,” he admitted.

Maher admitted that he didn’t know that Tipperary were as many as eleven points down midway through the second half before they found something from somewhere to reel in the Deise

We had no choice. When you’re down, you have to dig deep,” he added.

“When you’re facing something like that, you have to dig deep. We got the result, not the one or the performance we wanted.
