Kiladangan shade another super Minor semi-final contest

Kiladangan 2-15

Roscrea 1-16

A minor hurling championship that keeps on giving continued last Wednesday as Kiladangan dethroned Roscrea to progress to the North Minor 'A' Hurling final.

As in Borrisokane the previous week, the sides produced an enthralling contest and it looked as if a second replay would be required in the descending gloom as time clicked into injury time. But as in the drawn game when they scored two injury time points to force a replay, Kiladangan produced the winning scores in added time to set up a final meeting with Toomevara this Friday (Cloughjordan at 5.45pm)

The game went along similar lines to the seven days earlier, Kiladangan leading at half time with Roscrea roaring back in the second half but the holders were never able to get their noses in front down the home stretch with Kiladangan's star forwards Bryan McLoughney (free) and Sean Hayes conjuring up the winning points.

McLoughney was the difference, scoring 2-8, 2-5 in the first half to set his side up with a commanding six point lead which they managed to defend.
