Kiladangan and Nenagh go again

KILADANGAN v NENAGH EIRE OG

Saturday 9th September

Kenyon Park, Templederry

Throw-in @ 5.00pm (E.T.)

Referee: Kieran Delaney (Toomevara)

It's taken a while to fit in but six weeks after the sides played out an exciting draw, after extra time, Nenagh Eire Og and Kiladangan finally get to play their North Senior Hurling Championship semi-final replay.

It's back to Templederry again, the site of their 2-23 each draw on July 27th last and another closely fought tussle is expected for the right to meet Kilruane MacDonaghs in the final.

Neither side have been idle in the meantime, both booking their places in the quarter finals of the County Championship via the group stage route, Nenagh winning all three of their games, while Kiladangan's 100% record was ended by Borris-Ileigh, even if they still managed a draw last Saturday evening.

With their county championship route secured, it should allow both clubs to play with an element of freedom as everything isn't riding on the result.

This might seem strange to some considering it is a North semi-final, a huge game in its own right but these are two clubs that have lofty ambitions. Kiladangan have won three North titles in the last five years and with an ever developing squad, will be targeting something more and getting back to a county final is certainly on their radar.

Nenagh haven't won a North title since 2014 and they probably more than Kiladangan could do with some divisional success to validate their return to form this year after a sub-par 2017.
