Munster Solar Senior Hurling Championship

The semi-finals of the North Senior Hurling Championship take place this Saturday and Sunday evening in Nenagh and Dolla respectively. Admission is via Tap & Go at the venue, see GAA Scoreboard for fixtures.

The final will take place on weekend of July 11th & 12th.

Portroe are the 2026 champions after their exciting 0-24 to 1-16 win over Newport on Saturday in MacDonagh Park Nenagh. See match report.

The Watch Centre Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship

Round 2 of the North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship took place on Sunday.

In Group 1, Nenagh Eire Og got their first win of the campaign with a six-point victory over Kiladangan in Dolla.

A Cian O’Farrell goal in the ninth minute gave Nenagh an early two-point lead but Kiladangan pushed on in the middle of the half to go three in front, mainly thanks to Tom Boland.

Seven minutes into the second half, Nenagh drew level and never looked back, Aodhan O’Connor their main scoring threat up front as he scored four second half points from play to edge Nenagh to their second win.

The second game in group 1 was refixed for Friday, July 3rd between Kilruane MacDonaghs and Toomevara,

In Group 2, Roscrea pushed their way into top spot with a second single-point victory, this time over Borris-Ileigh, 1-18 to 1-17.

Borris held a five-point lead at half time but Roscrea came back to win by one with Liam Dunphy and Dylan Hogan doing most of the scoring. Michael Carey, yet again, was to the fore for Borris.

Ballinahinch accounted for neighbours Silvermines in Templederry 1-18 to 0-14.

The opening score of the game was a goal and both sides traded points for the majority of the game with Ballinahinch holding a 1-10 to 0-8 lead at half time. Silvermines were unable to break down that lead despite best efforts from Orrie Quirke and Oisin Murphy in the second half.

Round 3 takes place Friday, July 10th with three teams qualifying from both groups.

The Watch Centre Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship

Round 1 of the North Junior ‘B’ Championship began over the weekend with the top 2 teams in each of the three groups qualifying for the knockout stages.

In Group 1, Burgess had a strong win over Portroe on Friday while Toomevara had a three point win over Kiladangan.

Group 2 saw wins for Newport and Ballina over Knockshegowna and Lorrha respectively who face each other in round 2 in a must-win game.

In Group 3, Roscrea pulled off the shock of the weekend defeating Moneygall by one point. The final game in group 3 sees Kilruane MacDonaghs play Templederry Kenyons this Saturday.

Ger Gavin Home Interiors Minor ‘A’ & ‘B’ Hurling Championships

begin on Wednesday, July 8th.

Minor ‘A’ comprises of two groups of 5 with the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals.

In Minor ‘B’, 4 teams will compete in one group with all four qualifying for the semi-finals with 1st place playing 4th, and 2nd place playing 3rd.
