Tipperary Co Council has appointed a design team for a new development of 58 houses at Murroe Road, Newport.

A design team is also in place for a development of 16 units on the former Dapp Inn site in Nenagh.

Also at design stage in Nenagh are 13 units at Millersbrook, and 27 at Gortlandroe.

A part 8 public consultation process for a scheme of 13 units at the former Rialto Cinema/Sheahans Hardware site is being prepared. Elsewhere, a tender is being prepared for the construction of five new dwellings at William St, while construction of a 67-unit project at Tyone in conjunction with the Respond approved housing body is due to be complete this month.

This month’s meeting of Tipperary Co Council heard that, despite a slow start, almost 300 new units will be delivered across the county this year, far above the target of 174 units set for the council by the Department of Housing. The council delivered at total of 232 units in 2025 and 180 the year before that, well in excess of the department-set target in both years.
