Appreciating our nature
The Lorrha Dorrha Ladies Club undertook a project to highlight and appreciate the nature and biodiversity all around the parish of Lorrha, Redwood and Rathcabbin through phone photography.
It was their intention when they undertook the project, to align with and promote existing biodiversity initiatives in the parish, reinforcing conservation efforts through visual storytelling.
Recently, the energetic Rathcabbin Tidy Towns group officially opened their wild meadows area in the village, which in itself has over thirty species of wild-flowers and plants. So, the ladies group chose biodiversity as the theme for their project, which highlighted the rich nature all around us and which many of us take for granted.
The aim of their photography project is to not only depict life’s diversity, but to subtly raise awareness about the urgent need to protect it.
The ladies hope that, in some small way, they have achieved that goal.
The group had their work on display recently in Rathcabbin Hall which drew a large crowd to the viewing.
If you missed out on this project, you will be able to browse through their project when they take their exhibition to the Nenagh Arts Centre from Wednesday, August 27, until September 30.
