Legend Kelly in as Tipp Minor Hurling boss

Tipperary hurling great Eoin Kelly has been confirmed as the new county’s new minor hurling manager.

A former All-Ireland senior winning captain with Tipperary in 2010 and 6-time All-Star, the CJ Kickhams Mullinahone has gained valuable experience across a number of senior inter-county and club environments.

He has been involved with both the Tipperary team under Liam Sheedy in winning the 2019 All-Ireland title, before moving on to working with the Waterford senior hurlers from 2023 to 2025 under Peter Quelly, as well as having an active role with his club.

That level of experience combined with his knowledge of Tipperary hurling and his understanding of what is required to perform at the highest level will be invaluable as he takes on responsibility for the county's minor hurling team.

The minor grade represents an important stage in the development of young Tipperary hurlers and Eoin will place a strong emphasis on helping players develop both individually and collectively while preparing them for the demands of inter-county hurling.

In making the announcement, Tipperary GAA thanked all those who expressed an interest in the highly sought position and submitted applications to succeed James Woodlock who has moved onto to become under 20 manager.

“The quality and calibre of the applicants reflected the strong level of commitment to the development of Tipperary hurling and Tipperary GAA appreciates the time and effort involved in the process,” Tipperary GAA said in a statement.

Eoin's management team will be confirmed and announced in due course.
