Eamon O’Shea to manage Ireland Shinty team

The management teams for the 2026 Shinty-Hurling/Camogie Internationals have been confirmed.

The male and female teams will take on their Scottish counterparts in the hybrid sport, in a double-header at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork, on Saturday, 24th October. The Shinty-Camogie International will begin at 4.00pm, before the Shinty-Hurling International takes place at 6.00pm.

Former Tipperary All-Ireland senior hurling winning coach Eamon O’Shea will take charge of the men’s team, joined by Tommy Dunne as coach.

Eamon O’Shea said: “The management team and myself really looking forward to the challenge,” said Eamon O’Shea.

“It is foremost an opportunity for our hurlers across the country to showcase their skills in an international environment. The game against Scotland will be exciting, fast and skilful. No better place than Páirc Ui Chaoimh to showcase the fundamentals of the two ancient games. See you all in Cork on 24th October”.

The rest of the management team includes John Considine (Kilbrittain, Cork), Seamus ‘Cheddar’ Plunkett (Portlaoise, Laois), Patrick Hannon (Monaghan Harps, Monaghan) and Conor Hayes (Kiltormer, Galway).

2026 All-Ireland camogie winning manager with Cork, Ger Manley, will manage the women's team. Manley, who previously represented Ireland as a player, also managed the Camogie team to victory in Inverness in 2025.

He will be joined on his management team by Cork great Gemma O’Connor (St Finbarr’s), Elaine Dowds (Dunloy, Antrim), Jennifer Mehigan (St Finbarr’s, Cork), Kieran McCarthy (Douglas, Cork), and Pat O’Neill (Young Irelands, Kilkenny).
