Commemoration in Dolla

North Tipperary Sinn Féin’s Dan Harty and Damian O’Donoghue met with Annwyn Lewis of Welsh Independence party Plaid Cymru on Friday night in Dolla graveyard for the centenary commemoration of CO James Madden, IRA. It was a fantastic and moving ceremony with a great oration from local republican Paddy Hackett, who quoted from a poem written by James Madden while he was interned in Rath Camp in the Curragh:

God made the bees

And the bees made the honey

Republicans did the work

And the Staters took the money
