Mungret Regional 3-3 Newport

Mungret Regional and Newport Town played out an exciting draw on Thursday in Mungret.

Aaron Long (Mungret) and Peter O'Sullivan (Newport) scored first half Goals to send the sides in level at the break. Newport upped the tempo after the restart and goals from Brian O'Sullivan and Christy Doyle had the Tipperary side well in control with ten minutes remaining. However, a great comeback saw the home side bounce back to level the tie. Newport nearly snatched it with Elliot Slattery’s late free kick that struck the crossbar.

Nenagh AFC 1-1 Geraldines

Another four wins in succession, Nenagh AFC were halted somewhat on Thursday evening when they had to settle for a share of the spoils with Geraldines in Brickfields.

Tony Mambuana put the visitors in front but a quick reply from Saeed Ryan earned Nenagh a point that should be enough to ensure top flight survival.

Nenagh AFC 0-1 Ballynanty Rovers

On Sunday, Nenagh’s five game unbeaten run came to an end when they fell to Ballynanty Rovers in Brickfields. The only goal of the game was scored by Darragh Rainsford.

Lower Leagues

The Division 1B Cup pitted the two Tipperary sides against each other and Newport Town ‘B’ won bragging rights with a 3-0 win over Nenagh AFC ‘B’. Pa Gallagher, Nathan Hartigan and Colin Coleman scored the winning goals.

Youths

In the Youth Division 2 Cup, Nenagh AFC qualified for the semi-final of the Divisional Cup after a penalty shootout win over Charleville. The game finished 2-2 after ninety minutes. Dylan McKenna and Brehon O'Donnell scored for Nenagh who won 4-2 on spot kicks.

In the Under 17 League Division 1, goals from Jordan Pratt, Liam O'Shaughnessy, Matthew Ryan, and John Kerr gave Lough Derg a 4-3 win over Regional United.

In the Division 2 Cup, Nenagh AFC qualified for a semi-final bout with Pike Rovers following their 4-3 win over Summerville Rovers. Nenagh scorers were Daniel Connolly (2), Charlie Moran and an own goal.
