Serious incident investigated in Moneygall

Gardaí responded to a what they are calling “a serious incident” that was reported to have taken place in Moneygall on Wednesday of last week.

It has been alleged that a man produced “an implement” during the course of a dispute at the Obama Plaza.

Some time later members of the force from Nenagh arrested a man who was detained at the local garda station for questioning. Arising from the incident, a follow up search took place in County Clare. The man was released the following day and a file is now being prepared for the DPP.

Staying with Moneygall, gardaí say they are investigating a theft of a mobile phone from a parked van that occurred in the village on Saturday last some time between 4.45pm and 5.30pm
