Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship: The first round of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship took place last Friday with two evenly contested games.

Borris-Ileigh brought their League form into the Championship after they defeated Roscrea 1-19 to 1-15 with Jack Hogan, Jack Fitzgerald and David O’Connor prominent scorers for the victors.

A 1-9 haul from Eoin Carroll helped Kilruane MacDonaghs to a slender 1-16 to 1-15 victory over rivals Nenagh Eire Og.

Round 2 takes place this weekend. On Friday, Borris-Ileigh will look to continue their good form as they face Nenagh Eire Og at 7.00pm in Toomevara. On Saturday, MacDonaghs Park Nenagh will be the venue for the meeting of Kilruane MacDonaghs and Toomevara with action to throw in at 7.30pm.

It’s important to note admission to the North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship games is via ticket only and are available to purchase online (please check out the North Tipperary GAA Social Media pages for link).

Junior ‘B’ Hurling League: The quarter finals of the Junior ‘B’ Hurling League took place last Saturday.

Donnacha O’Meara and Tom Duggan impressed for Lorrha as they advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Kiladangan 1-21 to 2-13. A strong first half showing from Borrisokane was key in their 2-16 to 2-13 win over Newport..

The semi-finals will take place this Saturday 11th with the final fixed for Saturday 18th.

The line-up see’s Silvermines hosting Lorrha in Dolla whilst Borrisokane host Ballina.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship: The first round of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship will commence on Saturday June 18th. Round 1 fixtures per below with first team named out in the fixture having home advantage:

Group 1 – Nenagh Eire Og v Borrisokane, Lorrha v Knockshegowna (to be played on Friday 24th)

Group 2 – Portroe v Silvermines, Templederry Kenyons v Newport, Burgess bye

Group 3 – Kiladangan v Moneygall, Ballina v Shannon Rovers

For the teams that reach the North Junior ‘B’ League final – their first round championship games will be pushed out to Friday 24th.

Junior ‘A’ Football: Kiladangan won the Gilmartin Cup for the first time since 2011 after a 0-9 to 0-5 win over Roscrea Inane last Wednesday in the North Junior ‘A’ Football Final.

Kiladangan’s greater accuracy in front of goal helped them to the win with Stephen Mulvihill prominent from placed balls whilst two excellent second half saves from Kiladangan goalkeeper kept Roscrea Inane at bay. Kiladangan captain Stephen Mulvihill accepted the cup after the game from North Board chairman Micheal Tierney.

Junior ‘B’ Football: Kilruane MacDonaghs proved far too strong for Shannon Rovers in last Wednesdays North Junior ‘B’ Football final with the magpies winning out 5-8 to 0-8. Cian Darcy (2), Matthew Spain, Eoin Hogan and Craig Morgan were the Kilruane goal scorers. Kilruane joint captains Carl Williams and Craig Morgan accepted the cup after the game from North Board secretary Philip Delaney.
