Weight has been lifted from Borris shoulders - McCormack

Every kids dream is to lift silverware for their team and for Borris-Ileigh on Sunday, Conor Kenny and Sean McCormack got that honour as joint-captains.

McCormack assumed the speech-making duties and even he was struggling to come to terms with that had just happened on Sunday.

“I don’t even what to say or what I am meant to do. People are running at me and shaking my hand, it’s hard to describe,” he admitted.

“It’s a mixture of joy and relief and after what the parish has gone through this is a big lift and we needed it big time.

“It’s a monkey off the back as well because I know 33 years ago we had a great team and it hung over us for a while but that weight has been lifted off our shoulders and we can make our own history now and see where it takes us.”
