Burgess' desire too much for Nenagh

What a difference twelve months can make!

Around this time last year, Burgess suffered a humiliating 20 point defeat at the hands of Nenagh Eire Og in the North quarter final but last Sunday they overturned it as Stephen Murray inspired his side to a three point win over Nenagh Eire Og in last Sunday's first round game.

It was certainly the upset of the year so far as the 2018 Seamus O’Riain winners looked to be in trouble at half time when leading by just a point, after playing with the strong breeze. But as the second half developed it became apparent that only one team had the greater hunger to claim the win.

Victories can be achieved when a player like Stephen Murray is around. He was one of the heroes of the day as he posted eight points, seven from frees, plus a sideline ball in conditions that were far from ideal as cold weather left players numb but it didn’t deter Burgess who had all their match-ups right all over the field.
