Blueway 10K Challenge Your Time Is Up: Last Chance to Participate in the 2016 Paddle

Hundreds of new paddlers have registered to participate in the Blueway 10k Challenge as the final part of their 12 week Learn to Paddle programme run by Canoeing Ireland and Canoe Association of Northern Ireland in conjunction with Waterways Ireland. The 9 Blueway 10K Challenge Events will simultaneously launch on the 20th of August in Kilkenny, Cork, Coleraine, Fermanagh, Portumna, Leixlip, Killaloe, Limerick & Naas.

Places are still available at www.bluewaysireland.org/events for experienced paddlers to sign-up to participate in the 10K Challenge- members of the canoe association participate for free, for all others a small fee applies to cover insurance. Families and friends that come along can join in the fun with paddling taster sessions at all the finish locations.

The Blueway 10K Learn to Paddle Programme is a no nonsense workout that allows people to turn up in regular workout clothes, put on a buoyancy aid, grab a boat and paddle, and go for short intensive work out. Over 40 activity providers around the country, canoe clubs and businesses, provided training to the 100's of new people who came along.

Blueway 10k has been developed by Canoeing Ireland in partnership with Waterways Ireland, the Coca Cola Thank You Fund and the Canoe Association of Northern Ireland.
