Second public consultation on Latteragh road

Tipperary Co Council is holding a second public consultation on its plans to develop a road improvement scheme on the R498 (Nenagh-Thurles road) at Latteragh.

The council plans to construct a road approximately 7km south east of the M7 Nenagh bypass, with a study area within the townlands of Ballincurry, Ballyconnor, Carrick (Peacocke), Carrick (Dawson), Carrick (Maunsell), Tiermoyle, Curragh, Killanafinch, Lackenavorna, Sallypark, Knocknagoogh, Lackakera, Garrane, Bigpark, Latteragh, Gurteen, Glenmore Lower, Glenmore Upper, Currabaha, Grangeroe and Glenbreedy.
This second public consultation is to update members of the public on the progress of the route selection stage following the first public consultation last November. It is also to allow the public to raise concerns and comments for consideration of the route options being considered during the finalisation of the route selection stage.
All interested parties are welcome to attend the second public consultation, where members of the project team will be available to discuss the scheme and answer queries. It is scheduled for Tuesday January 19th between 1pm and 4pm at the Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh.
The council is seeking the general cooperation and understanding of the public in relation to the advancement of the project. A questionnaire will be available at the public session and at the Civic Offices from January 19th. The questionnaire can also be downloaded from the Tipperary County Council website.
The material will also be on display at the Civic Offices between Janaury 19th and February 5th. The council welcomes any submissions relating to the study area, constraints and route corridors presented. Submissions may be made before February 5th and posted or hand delivered to: The Project Engineer, R498 Road Realignment
