Official lighting of roscreas christmas lights

The official lighting of the Roscrea Christmas lights will take place today (Thursday December 4th) at 5pm at Rosemary Square. Lots of other events are planned including a CD launch and fireworks display.

Speaking at the monthly meeting of Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce, Secretary Brian King said that a number of events involving a number of community groups will all take place that evening as part of the “Taste Of Roscrea Festival”.

The “Kickback Café” was working hard to make the fireworks display happen and if they are successful the display will take place immediately after the lighting of the tree. Complimenting Roscrea Stands Up, Mr King said that Joan Murray had advised him that after a successful collection last weekend it is also hoped to unveil the new crib in Rosemary Square that evening.

Mr King encouraged everyone to also take a trip to the “Taste Of Roscrea” after these events because at around 5.30pm, the Roscrea Christmas CD with the feature track “Love Came” will be officially launched and performed for the first time. All proceeds arising from the sale of the CD after production costs will be distributed to the schools involved.
