New date expected for Munster's Champions Cup tie

Discussions are continuing on rescheduling fixtures in the European Champions Cup after a number were postponed following the tragic events in Paris last Friday.

Munster recorded an opening pool win over Treviso last Saturday and were due to play Stade Francais in Paris this Sunday. However this game has since been postponed amid security concerns in the French capital. It is hoped that the new dates will be announced as soon as possible following this weekend's Round 2 matches in both tournaments.

Meanwhile there was mixed news on the injury front for hookers Mike Sherry and Duncan Casey. Having jarred his knee in the first half of Munster's Champions Cup opener against Treviso, Mike Sherry met with a specialist on Tuesday where the prognosis was largely positive. After sustaining a mild ligament injury, the 27-year-old will now undergo a short-term rehab programme for the next few weeks.

The news was less positive for
Duncan Casey who ruptured a pectoral muscle in Saturday's win at Thomond Park. Casey will undergo surgery today with a timeline for his return to be set post-op.
