Tipperary receive five All-Star nominations

This year's fine campaign by the Tipperary footballers, which seen them march to their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1935, was this morning highlighted with five All-Star nominations.

Tipperary received nominations for goalkeeper Evan Comerford (Kilsheelan-Kilcash), defender Robbie Kiely (Arravale Rovers/Carbery Rangers), midfielder Peter Acheson (Moyle Rovers), and forwards Michael Quinlivan (Clonmel Commericals) and Conor Sweeney (Ballyporeen).

There was additional good news for the team with Josh Keane (Golden-Kilfeakle) and Jimmy Feehan (Killenaule)  being nominated for Young Footballer of the Year and they are joined on the list by Mayo's Diarmuid O'Connor.

The All Star team will be selected next month by a panel of national Gaelic Games correspondents, while the Players of the Year awards will be voted on by the players themselves.
