Kiladangan finish Toome off in replay

Kiladangan 2-21

Toomevara 1-17

Kiladangan finished the job against a stubborn Toomevara team in this replay played in Nenagh last Tuesday evening.

Despite the scoreline the contest was a very tight affair for 50 minutes, with Kiladangan essentially finding another gear in the final 10 minutes to finish off their opponents.

Early goals from Ciaran Kelly in the third minute, and Bryan McLoughney in the fifth, put Kiladangan in a good early position in the first half.

Toome responded well with an Alan Ryan goal, while the sides traded point for point, and the sides went in level at the break at 1-10 to 2-7.

The second half remained a tight affair and both teams hit some lovely scores between 37th and 50th minute, but it was Kiladangan who finished the game strongest with Bryan McLoughney and Ciaran Kelly coming to the fore with some brilliant scores.

The Greyhounds battled hard through the likes of Kevin McCarthy and Alan Ryan, but simply ran out of steam down the home stretch, and there can be no dispute that the best team won on the day.

Kiladangan now face Moneygall/Clonakenny in the final on Saturday next in Nenagh at 4.30pm.
