New Management for East Clare Golf Club

East Clare Development Village, the new management company behind East Clare Golf Club, has given a firm commitment to reduce membership fees over the coming three years. As a start, membership fees have been cut by €100 to €650 for 2018, with a pledge to reduce them to €500 over the coming three years.

This is just one of the benefits announced by the new management team for existing and new members of East Clare Golf Club. An incentive of €150 has also been announced to attract new membership. For any current members who introduces a new or lapsed member, both will receive the generous sum as a restaurant or bar credit.

“East Clare Golf Club is a fantastic amenity for the region and we have given our firm commitment to develop and grow the offering to new and existing members. As part of this, we have reduced the membership fees for next year and will reduce this even further resulting in eventual savings of €250pa against 2017 prices. This is against a backdrop of courses and clubs across the country increasing membership fees,” said Ger Teefy, Operational Director of East Clare Development Village.

“We believe that by managing both the holiday accommodation and the golf club, we can open up facilities across both to members and visitors. A good example of this is the fantastic restaurant and bar facility in the club house; by inviting visitors staying in the holiday homes to come, dine and enjoy the club house, this will help generate fresh revenue as well as new jobs. We see this as a real win-win for everyone,” said Teefy.

“Given we already manage holiday home accommodation in 4 locations in the area, including the adjacent East Clare Holiday Village that attracts 12,000 visitors each year, we can utilise new revenue from these sources to support the reduction of membership fees on the golf course.  In addition to reducing membership fees, East Clare Development Village also announced that it will offer each member one week’s accommodation each year for three years as if they were owners of the holiday product.

Teefy said: “We are giving each of our members the gift of vacation club membership for the next three years, which has an estimated value of around €1,000. The week is fully transferrable so can be shared with family and friends and can be used for breaks in other countries if exchanged through DAE (www.daelive.com), which allows people exchange holiday homes across the globe”.

The range of new member benefits follows the announcement last week that East Clare Development Village has taken over the management of East Clare Golf Club. The new management company is planning an extensive redevelopment of the facility over the coming years. For more information on the golf club, visit www.eastclaregolfclub.ie.
