Roscrea clinched the North Junior ‘A’ League title after just about doing enough to see off a game Templederry effort at a sun-drenched Borris-Ileigh last Friday evening.

Roscrea’s greater spread of scorers along with the strength of their bench – particularly the introduction of Luke Cashin who notched 1-3 in his 15 minutes on the pitch – was the big difference between the sides as Roscrea look to be sending out a message after dropping down from intermediate.

Despite the loss, Templederry were unlucky at certain stages, and only for some exceptional saves from the impressive Kevin Dooley in the Roscrea goal in the final five or so minutes, they could have clinched the victory but they just lacked that bit of a punch in front of goals and, as a result, they were chasing the game for large spells of the second half.
