Tipperary's Munster Championship dates confirmed

Tipperary will begin the defence of their Munster and All Ireland Senior Hurling titles on Sunday 21st May 2017 when they welcome Cork to Semple Stadium, Thurles for a second successive year, with a 4pm throw-in.

With the redevelopment of Pairc Ui Chaoimh not being complete until early July, Cork have agreed to return to the Field of Legends for the provincial opener.

The winner will progress to a semi-final against Waterford on Sunday 18th June while Limerick and Clare will face off in the other semi-final in Thurles on Sunday 4th June. All games are similar dates to the 2016 schedule. The Munster Final has been fixed for Sunday 9th July.

With Tipperary receiving a bye to the semi-finals of the Munster senior football championship, they will face the winners of Cork or Waterford on weekend 11-12 June. With the likelihood that Cork will be successful, this game will likely be played at Pairc Ui Rinn. The Munster Final has been fixed for Sunday 2nd July.

Tipperary's Under 21 Footballers will be the first premier county team into championship action when they face Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday 8th March in a Munster quarter final and should they win they will travel to Cork seven days later. The Munster Final has been fixed for Wednesday 29th March.

Tipperary's Under 21 hurlers will play Limerick in a Munster quarter final on Wednesday 21st June at the Gaelic Grounds, three days after a possible Munster senior hurling semi-final. Should Tipperary be successful, they will host Clare in a Munster semi-final on Wednesday 12th July with a Munster Final fixed for Wednesday 26th July.

All Ireland champions Tipperary will begin the defence of their Munster and All Ireland Minor hurling titles will begin in Thurles against Limerick on Wednesday 5th April while the minor footballers will also have home advantage for their opener against Cork seven days later.

The new Munster Under 17 competition which will succeed the minor championship from 2018, will be run on a knockout basis this year with Tipperary playing either Cork or Limerick in a semi-final, away from home on Tuesday 18th April with the final fixed for Tuesday 25th April.

In the football competition, Tipperary will host Clare in a quarter final on Tuesday 4th April with the winner travelling to Tralee to play Kerry on Tuesday 2nd May with the final fixed for Tuesday 16th May.
