Under 16 Football: The past week has seen the final stages of the Under 16 Football Championship come to a dramatic conclusion. In the 'A' grade, Inane Rovers and Nenagh Eire Og played out a thriller in Borrisokane, in an extraordinary game which saw a total of 11 goals. In the end, Inane Rovers just came out on top with two points to spare on a scoreline of 7-2 to 4-9.

Meanwhile in 'B' grade, we were treated to another tense encounter between Newport Gaels and Moneygall/Clonakenny in Nenagh. On a bitterly cold evening, two points was again the winning margin as Newport Gaels just did enough to overcome the strong challenge from the Moneygall/Clonakenny combo.

Then, on an even colder evening in Portroe, the host team who had won the toss for the venue against Templederry, played out a dramatic 'C' Final. In a game which saw end to end football, a total of ten goals, several goal line clearances and a crossbar hit, Portroe held on in the last few minutes to beat Templederry 5-10 to 5-6.

Great credit is due to all six finalists and we wish the three winners from Inane Rovers, Newport Gaels and Portroe the very best of luck versus the South Tipp opposition in the County semi-finals, which will take place after the school exams in late June.

Under 14 Football: The group stages are now also complete. In the 'A' grade, we have a playoff between Nenagh Eire Óg and Shannon Rovers/Lorrha this Wednesday to decide the semi-final pairings. The winner will play Inane Rovers with the loser playing Kilruane MacDonaghs. Both semi-finals will take place on Wednesday next.

Meanwhile in the 'B' grade, we have quarter finals this Wednesday with Moneygall/Clonakenny playing Ballina and Kildangan meeting Borris-Ileigh. Burgess and Newport Gaels have already qualified for the semi-finals by winning their respective groups and will be kept apart. The semi-finals will take place next Wednesday, 20th May.

Under 12 Football: Unfortunately the four U12 football finals were rained off last Saturday and all finals will take place during the week. In the 'A' grade, Inane Rovers will play Silvermines whilst in 'B', Moneygall will meet Burgess. Then in grade 'C', Lorrha will meet Balling and in Grade 'D', Inane Rovers 2 will meet Templederry.

Best of luck to all teams as the winners have a quick turnaround with the County semi-finals this Saturday.

Exam Break: The Coiste Na nÓg committee would like to wish all exam students the very best of luck as they now break from competitive action in time for a well earned break before the exams.

Hurling Championship: The CCC will meet later this week to compile the fixture list in advance of the championship. A full North Board meeting will be held next week to advise all clubs of the championship structure and all target dates.
