Bournea Reaching Out festival weekend

Bournea Reaching Out is hosting a festival weekend on July 1st and 2nd.

The programme of events includes a schools reunion, annual Historical Walk, and 'The Way We Were' demonstration of old time tools, utensils and skills.

On Saturday evening, past pupils of three primary schools in the parish that no longer extant - Boulebane, St Cronan’s Longford Wood, and St Burchin's CoI, Bourney - as well as past pupils of Scoil Mhuire, Lismackin, founded by the amalgamation of Boulebane and Longford Wood in 1983, are invited, along with their families, to a school reunion in the Norebrook Lounge.

We would hope that you will help to promote this event, by contacting your family members, former classmates and anyone you may know to have been a pupil in these schools over the years, and letting them know of the event. There will be a Mass for deceased past pupils earlier in the evening at St Patrick's Church, Couragunneen. The annual Historical Walk has become an integral part of the parish calendar. This year's walk will be on Sunday afternoon, July 2nd. The route will be Couragunneen to Clonakenny.

In the evening there will be a follow up to our 'The Way We Were' project with demonstrations of old tools, utensils and implements in operation. We will have more information later on this exciting festival, which is expected to be a great boost for the area.

Looking forward to welcoming many visitors to the festival weekend.
