Four Men and a Dog.

Portroe man Gerry to play at Dublin TradFest

The full line up for the 12th annual TradFest Temple Bar, presented by The Temple Bar Company, has been announced.

Among those taking part in this internationally renowned festival will be Portroe born musician Gerry O’Connor. As Four Men & A Dog, Gerry will be performing alongside Cathal Hayden, Kevin Doherty, Gino Lupari and Donal Murphy.

Four Men & A Dog made a name for themselves with their eclectic and vivacious blend of traditional Irish music with a wide spectrum of other genres, including rap, Southern rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, polka, country swing, and even salsa. The band made their debut performance as a band in ‘Murphy’s Bar’, Dungiven, County Derry, in 1991 before going on to steal the show at the Belfast Folk Festival later that year, with a high-energy approach that combines furious traditional dance tunes with irreverent new music and inimitable covers. Four Men & a Dog have recorded seven albums to date. Their recent album, titled 'And the Band Played On', was launched in May 2016 to celebrate 25 years touring around the world!

The group will be performing as part of the Trad Gala night, along with the trad band Altan and ‘super-group’ Bofin To Burren. Don’t miss this wonderful concert, in Dublin Castle, Saturday 28th January, at 8:30pm. Tickets €39.99.
