Gordon Lord Byron Documentary to Screen at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre this Saturday

Against The Odds Racing with Gordon Lord Byron, the documentary by Tipperary filmmaker Nicholas Purcell Ryan will have a special screening as part of the OFFline Film Festival at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre this Saturday (October 15).

 

‘Gordon’, the incredible racehorse who captured the hearts and imaginations across the world, is owned by the Cahalan family from Ballingarry, Co Tipperary and trained by Nenagh based trainer, Tom Hogan.

 

The documentary follows the incredible Irish sprinter, who despite suffering a serious setback early on in training, went on to defy the odds and become a champion.

 

Against All Odds, which has already picked up two awards in Hollywood this year, features contributions from the Cahalan family, co-owner Dr Cyrus Poonawalla, Tom Hogan and others. It is also narrated by former jockey Tom Rudd.

 

The screening at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on Saturday 15 October, 8pm will be followed by a Q&A with director Nicholas Purcell Ryan, who hails from Emly, Co. Tipperary.
