Weather warning acoss Tipperary

Due to existing and predicted weather conditions, Tipperary County Council is advising householders and business owners to take extra precautions to deal with flooding over the next few days.

Persistent rain is giving rise to concern on water levels within both the Shannon and Suir catchments.
The N65 Portumna to Borrisokane road on the Carrigahorig side of Portumna is still closed and will remain closed until further notice. It may also be necessary to close the bridge at Portumna if water levels on the Shannon continue to rise at predicted levels.
Persons are advised not to take unnecessary journeys as flooding on roads is likely to increase based on rainfall predictions.
