Art class at St Joseph's CBS Secondary School, Nenagh

Nenagh cbs is countrys top feeder school

Principal of St Joseph's CBS Tony Slattery has welcomed the Nenagh school's ranking as the top non-fee-paying 'feeder school' for third level education in the country.

The recently published Irish Times supplement on feeder schools shows St Joseph's CBS had a progression rate of 135 percent, meaning all of its Leaving Cert class of 2014, combined with all its repeat students, went on directly to higher education.
Fifty-one students sat the Leaving Cert at the Nenagh school this year. The CBS was ranked by the Irish Times as the top non-fee-paying school feeder school in the country and the top feeder school in Munster.
'We are delighted in the school with the news that we are the top feeder school in the country for progression to third level for non fee-paying schools, according to the recent Irish Times survey,' Mr Slattery stated.
'It’s quite an achievement and caused a lot of excitement in the school last week.'
