Coonan welcomes development on post sorting facility in roscrea

Noel Coonan TD has welcomed the news that planning permission has been granted to An Post for a District Sorting facility at Benamore, Dublin Road, Roscrea.

'The conditional permission has been granted for change of use of ground floor of 381.0sq m to a new An Post District Sorting facility with alterations to elevations including a canopy to loading bay and all ancillary works,' said Deputy Coonan.

 

Donal Connell, CEO of An Post, informed Deputy Coonan that the New Sorting Office in Roscrea represents a significant investment by An Post. The building will be adapted for use as a Delivery Service Unit to serve Roscrea. It is designed to be tailor made to meet the needs of the mails services in the area, to improve the facilities for our customers and improve the efficiency of mails processing and improve the work environment of our employees.

 

Deputy Coonan continued: 'An Post is planning to open the office in mid 2015. The investment by An Post in a District Sorting facility at Benamore represents another vote of confidence in Roscrea and the local economy.'
