Woman awakened by burglars in borrisokane

Gardaí are appealing for witness information after a woman was awakened by two intruders during a burglary in Borrisokane last Friday night.
The incident occurred on Church Road shortly before 8.30pm. The woman was asleep in an upstairs bedroom when she was disturbed by a male with a torch. On sighting the woman, the man ran downstairs where he joined an accomplice. The pair then ran to a car that was waiting for them around 50 meters away from the house.
The men are described as being around six feet tall and aged 25-30. They wore baseball caps and coloured tracksuits, and reportedly spoke with Eastern European accents. The car is described as a small, black vehicle, possibly a Citroen.
A vacant neighbouring property was broken into around the same time. The intruders reportedly made off with a number of hurling medals. And damage was caused to a door at another house on the same street around the same time.
