Tipp aim to take giant step to quarter final

Player of the match Mary Ryan said the half time break came at the right time for Tipperary on Saturday as they powered away in the second period to claim their second win in the All Ireland Senior Camogie Championship
“We had a good chat at half time about pushing on and the good start that we had, so when we came back out we took that on again and the second goal helped us see it out in the end,” she said.
“Half time probably came at the right time for us, we had lost Karen (Kennedy) and we were a little bit disorganised and we were aware of that ourselves when we went in and we were a little unsettled and Clare I think took advantage of that, they knew we were a bit unsettled after Karen went off, but thank God we pushed on when we came back out”.
A couple of weeks ago, it looked like Tipp might have had a short summer but now that have turned that around with two wins in two weeks.
“There was a great buzz there today,” Ryan added.
“That winning feeling we got last week was indeed great there again today and it’s just to keep that going now.
“Teams might have written us off after our first heavy defeat, we lost Orla (O’Dwyer) last week, we lost Karen today, but we still kept going so obviously we have got a lot of positives from that which we have to bring to the next game as well.”
Looking ahead to next Saturday's clash with Dublin, Mary Ryan said the team are aiming for a second spot in the group with just games left to play with a trip to Meath following on July 20th.
“At this stage our aim is to be there in second position now that there are two games remaining. You always come looking for the wins and hopefully you get them, with two wins on the board already and hopefully two more to come. It is sort of heavy going week after week so we just sort of have to rest up during the week.
