Tipperary minor hurlers suffered a crushing 15-point defeat to Limerick in what proved a one-sided Munster Minor Hurling Championship clash at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Sports historians will have to go a long way back in the annals to ascertain a defeat of similar proportions for a Tipperary minor side as they were out-fought, out-thought and out-hurled by a strong Limerick outfit who have their eyes firmly fixed on a Munster title.

With just one win from this year’s campaign going into this clash Tipp were hoping to atone for a disappointing performance against Clare in their previous outing but their failure to curtail a rampant Limerick attack ultimately proved their downfall.

Management rang the changes for this final round robin encounter with the Treaty County and with Tipperary still in with a mathematical chance of securing a Munster final berth they knew they had to go for the jugular right from the start.
