Ballina fail to halt Drom double quest

Drom & Inch and Knockavilla Kickhams have never been regarded as traditional rivals within the world of Tipperary GAA, but that may well be about to change.

Somewhat uniquely, these sides will now battle it out twice in the coming weeks, with both the Minor 'B' Hurling and Football Championships at stake on either occasion.

A second-half surge from Ballina did threaten to derail Drom’s run of success in last Saturday's Minor 'B' football semi-final, but some fluent attacking moves enabled them to weather that storm, with a late Jimmy Mullins goal cementing their place in this year’s final.

John Ryan opened his sides account after three minutes, swinging it over the sweet-spot with a curling kick, yet Ballina were the more energetic side in that initial period, combining some excellent movement and ball-handling, but failing to convert in front of the posts.
