Workrate key to Nenagh's hopes of reaching final

THURLES SARSFIELDS v NENAGH EIRE OG

Semple Stadium, Thurles

Sunday 7th October

Throw-in @ 3.30pm (E.T.)

Referee: Fergal Horgan (Knockavilla Kickhams)

If Kilruane MacDonaghs have suffered at the hands of Thurles Sarsfields, well so have Nenagh Eire Og as they look to out their championship knockout hoodoo to bed in this Sunday's anticipated County semi-final.

In a 2014 quarter final which Thurles won in extra time, and a 2015 County final defeat, Nenagh haven't been far away from stopping Sarsfields winning era in its tracks. Since then, Thurles have gone onto complete a four-in-a-row and the manner in which they celebrated their last gasp quarter-final win over Kilruane last Saturday suggests their hunger is strong to complete the drive for five.

However, there is no doubting the fact that Thurles don't appear as dominant as they have in recent years, but they still have that winning mentality as they showed in coming from eight points down in the Mid final and seven down against Kilruane last Sunday.

They are vulnerable and it is up to Nenagh to take advantage of it and to do that they must produce their best performance of the year to date. As expected, they got a positive reaction from the players following their limp North semi-final defeat to Kiladangan, in overcoming Loughmore/Castleiney in the quarter final last Sunday.
