Permission granted for Roscrea community hub

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for a community hub at the old Tesco site at Roscrea Shopping Centre.

TCORP Properties Ltd has received permission for a change of use from office, stock room and ancillary facilities related to the former retail occupier to enterprise & community hub. The new development will consist of offices, training spaces and ancillary facilities. Building works consisting of elevational changes, external treatments, revised boundary treatments, site landscaping, signage and all associated works are included.

The council's planner's report on the application states that the hub will provide specialist facilities and training resources, and promote information and communications technology (ICT) adoption, innovation and investment. It is anticipated that the hub will employ three people in management and support roles. It will operate from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and some Sundays if demand occurs.

A car parking assessment concluded that there is an abundance of car parking available in the immediate vicinity of the site. It is expected that the hub will result in approximately 20 vehicular movements per day.
