Dogs 'dumped' outside Nenagh

Unwanted dogs are being “dumped” outside Nenagh, local councillor Séamus Morris (Ind) told last week's meeting of Nenagh Municipal District.

This has happened several times on the outskirts of the town, he said, referring to a particular incident in which two dogs were abandoned in the Old Birr Road area.

They were wandering on the road and almost caused cars to crash. Thankfully, the animals were picked up by the dog warden, Noel Searson, and they were subsequently rehomed, Cllr Morris said, thanking Mr Searson for his work in the matter.

“I'd like to ask whoever is doing it to stop,” Cllr Morris said, adding that abandoning dogs has “consequences”. “There are places where people can bring dogs when they're finished with them.”
