Cinderella comes to town!

Kids on Stage perform their annual show this weekend and this year’s show is 'Cinderella and Rockerfella'.

It tells the traditional story of Cinderella’s attempts to get to the ball to meet her Prince Charming. The prince in this show has decided to become a rock star and has changed his name to Rocky. Add in two really zany ugly sisters, a rather nasty fairy and two trainee fairies, and things really start happening. Luckily for Cinderella she has her good friend Buttons, a cute dog called Teaser and of course her Fairy Godmother to help. We all have our fingers crossed that Cinderella will finally get to the ball.

This year the production takes place in the Gaelscoil, Nenagh. It normally happens in Nenagh Arts Centre but due to a double booking this was not possible. Everyone is very grateful to Inez and all in the Gaelscoil who have given them the use of their facilities to go ahead with their show.

Kids on Stage began in 2005 and this is their 14th show. Choreographer is Irene O’Meara, Musical Director is Kirsty Ryan and Director of the group is Margaret Walshe. After the first dress rehearsal on Sunday, everybody is ready to rock on to the stage and entertain the people of Nenagh!

'Cinderella and Rockerfella' takes place on Saturday, April 6th, at 8pm and Sunday, 7th, at 2.30pm. Tickets are available at the door – Children: €8; adults: €12.
