New plan for Cloughjordan grain store

Tipperary Co Council has received a planning application to redevelop the old granary on Cloughjordan’s Step Road.

Replay Sports t/a FutureFit is seeking permission for the conversion of the existing building to provide two duplex apartments, one townhouse and one commercial space, along with new wastewater pre-treatment system and soakaway for stormwater disposal. The building is a protected structure.

The Dublin-based applicant informed the council that recent repairs funded under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme have stabilised the primary roof structure of the building. “Permission for the current development will provide much needed accommodation in Cloughjordan village and ensure the longevity of the building. All proposed interventions are minimal, reversible where feasible, and in line with recognised conservation principles, ensuring the character, fabric, and significance of the protected structure are fully preserved.”

The council is to decide on the application by November 2.
