Affordable housing for Nenagh

Tipperary Co Council is submitting two applications to the Department of Housing for funding for an affordable housing development in Nenagh.

Earlier this year, the council sought expressions of interest in developing affordable housing in the town. A recent meeting of the council was informed that it would be necessary to finalise Part V on the schemes prior to submission.

During discussion of an affordable housing scheme in Clonmel, Cllr Fiona Bonfield noted that Nenagh is next on the list. She asked for progress details, saying she has had a lot of representations from people looking for affordable housing in Nenagh.

Director of Services Jonathan Cooney said the Nenagh plans were ready to go to the department. He said he would also circulate details to councillors of the First Home Scheme, an affordable housing scheme that supports applicants to buy a new home or to build their first home.
