Drugs seizures in Nenagh district

Gardaí made two substantial drugs seizures in Nenagh and Roscrea last week.

Members of the Divisional Drugs Unit searched a property in the town of Nenagh on Wednesday, May 27. Approximately €1,000 worth of suspected cannabis was recovered. A file on the matter is being prepared for the DPP.

On Friday, an individual was stopped and searched in Roscrea. Around €1,500 worth of cocaine, subject to analysis, was seized. The suspect was charged in relation to drugs and other offences, and appeared before a court in Limerick where he was remanded in custody.

Also in Roscrea, gardaí investigating a burglary at Gantly Road in the early hours of Monday last arrested a male. He was questioned and charged with burglary; he was due before Thurles District Court this Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two motorists were arrested on suspicion of drink driving in the Roscrea area last Saturday.

Gardaí are also warning business owners to be wary of change scammers operating in Nenagh. This follows the theft of an amount of cash from one business in the town in a scam reported last Wednesday.
