The late Christopher Molloy of Lorrha
The death took place recently of Christopher (Christy) Molloy, Portland, Lorrha. Christy passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 23, in the wonderful care of Portiuncula Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on New Year’s Day in 1945 and raised in Rathcabbin, Christy was from a large family of 12. He attended school locally and like so many young lads, he played hurling with the Lorrha GAA club. He subsequently played for the seniors and as a proud Lorrha man, was a lifelong supporter of the club.
He spent over 40 years working for Tipperary County Council until his retirement in 2009. A quiet unassuming man, Christy loved nothing more than going social dancing with Carmel and playing a game of 25 with his friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but in particular by his family who will always cherish the memories they hold dear of him and they will never forget him.
Predeceased by his parents Michael and Rose, brothers Pat and John and sisters Sally and Pauline, he will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Carmel, daughter Eleanor, son-in-law Gerry, grand-daughter Caitlin, brothers Michael and William, sisters Mary Cahill (UK), Nancy O'Brien (UK), Margaret Gibney (Dublin), Kathleen Sexton (Kildare), Bridget Deane (Rathcabbin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
