Water supply disruption in Newport area
Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Newport following an interruption to the local Water Treatment Plant, which has led to some customers experiencing no water or low water pressure as a result.
The areas impacted include Newport Town, Birdhill, Ballina, Gortybrigane Ballinahinch, Killoscully and the surrounding areas
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a normal water pressure as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of a disruption to the water supply, and we thank customers impacted for their support while we work we work to restore full supply. Our crews are working to reduce the impact; however, some customers may experience an interruption to their supply until the restoration works are completed,” said Pierce.
