Nenagh band’s 20th anniversary
Nenagh band Castero are celebrating their 20th anniversary next month and are marking this with a comeback gig in The Talbot Bar Nenagh on Saturday, June 13. It’s a free show and kicks off at 9pm on the night.
Castero are a three-piece hard rock band hailing from Nenagh and are heavily influenced by all things Sabbath. The line up consists of Johnny Mac - guitar/vocals, Mog Morgan - bass/B vocals, Spanner - drums/madness.
They started out in 2006 as a four-piece and quickly recorded their first EP followed by other demos. From 2009 the band became the three-piece they are today. They have recorded two full-length albums along with the older stuff and are currently working on new tunes with a more desert rock/fuzz approach.
Castero have toured with NWOBH legends Diamond Head, O/D Saxon, Portrait, Argus, Age of Taurus and many more, and have been likened to bands like Motorhead, Melvins, Monstertruck and Black Label Society.
You can find Castero on all streaming platforms - Spotify, iTunes, Apple music, Deezer, YouTube. For the band’s latest news, you can find out more on new vids, new material and gig news via the band’s Instagram and Facebook profiles.
The boys can’t wait to get back playing live as it’s what they love. So, they hope to see heads rocking out at The Talbot Bar in Nenagh on Saturday, June 13, as it promises to be loud and groovy!
