A drive down memory lane

There was a great spectacle at the Manor Nursing Home on Saturday last, April 25, as the Nenagh Classic Car Club put on a display of classic and vintage cars for the residents.

The car club had visited the Manor some years back at their annual summer party, which was a most memorable event, and so they were delighted to have an opportunity to return.

Fiona Murphy from the Manor Nursing Home contacted the Nenagh Classic Car Club some weeks back and asked if the club would be able to return to the Manor with a display of cars as the residents would love to see them again. The request was greeted with a positive response as the members of the Nenagh Classic Car Club turned out in big numbers on Saturday afternoon last to put on a fantastic display of cars for their friends at the Manor.

The sunlight shone like honey from the heavens on Saturday afternoon as a convoy of classic and vintage cars rolled in along the driveway of the Manor Nursing Home. As the cars parked up side by side, it created such an image, it was almost like taking a trip down memory lane as the cars ranged from the 1950s right up to the 90s.

The residents and staff of the Manor walked around admiring the old cars and reminiscing about days gone by as the cars sparked memories from the past. The sounds of Johnny Cash could be heard playing in the background as the residents talked, laughed and enjoyed the afternoon in the company of their new friends at the Nenagh Classic Car Club.
